Little Cutie On The Way- Spring Baby Shower Joy
May started off with bright blue skies and sunny days! This Saturday was no different, big puffy clouds in the skies, breezy and warm, truly the perfect day for a baby shower, and thats just what we did! I had the joy of designing one of the sweetest baby shower setups yet — with a theme that’s as fresh and adorable as it sounds:
"A Little Cutie Is On the Way!"
This citrus-inspired celebration was bright, charming, and full of thoughtful touches — and I’m so excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at how it all came together.The Balloon Arch: Dimensional, Juicy, and Full of Love
The focal point of the event was a 7.2-foot half-arch, nestled alongside a custom vinyl backdrop that read “Baby Lemperle” — a perfect Instagram-ready spot for guests and the glowing mama-to-be.
Here’s how I brought this fresh and fruity vision to life:
The Color Palette
I chose Tuftex balloons in four soft, vibrant shades:
Cheeky
Lemonade
Orange
Classic White
These colors worked together to create a warm, sun-kissed vibe that perfectly matched the theme.
The Construction
To build the arch with dimension and movement:
I used 12 balloon clusters total
Each cluster was made from 4 balloons (9-inch), tied in pairs and wrapped together
To give the arch depth, I added 2 larger 12-inch balloons to each cluster for variation in size
After building the overall structure, I went back in and added clusters of 6 mini 2.5-inch balloons in key spots to fill gaps and create that lush, organic look
This layering technique is one of my favorite ways to bring life and texture into an install — especially for soft, cheerful themes like this one!
Clementines, Greenery & the Final Touches
To elevate the arch from “pretty” to “absolutely delightful,” I carefully tucked in branches of fresh greenery and real clementines throughout the balloons.
These little pops of color and texture made the whole setup feel extra fresh and playful — just like a summer fruit stand. 🍊🌿 Guests couldn’t stop talking about how creative and on-theme it was, and it brought such a natural element to the otherwise polished setup.
Final Thoughts
From the custom vinyl backdrop to the layered arch and citrus details, this baby shower was bursting with joy, love, and a whole lot of cuteness.
Whether it’s a shower, birthday, or milestone celebration, I love creating balloon moments that feel unique, personal, and full of heart. This event was a reminder of how much magic we can create with the right colors, a few creative techniques, and a whole lot of love.
